Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has warned those using abusive language against him, saying that they will be stripped and paraded on the streets and beaten. His remarks came after the arrest of two female journalists in the state for allegedly posting objectionable content on social media.

“Don’t Think I’m Silent Because I’m CM”

Speaking in the Telangana Assembly, Reddy said, “Don’t think I’m silent because I’m the Chief Minister. I will strip you and have you beaten. There are lakhs of people who will take to the streets at my command to beat you up.”

However, he later clarified, “I am being patient because of my position, but whatever I do will be within the legal framework.”

“Targeting My Family is Not Acceptable”

Revanth Reddy also expressed his displeasure over social media posts targeting his family. “We are in public life and open to criticism, but why are our family members being dragged into this?” he questioned.

Arrest of Two Female Journalists

The controversy started when the police registered a case on March 10 against journalists Revathi Pogadanda and her colleague Sandhya (alias Tanvi Yadav) for allegedly making defamatory posts against the CM. On March 12, both journalists, who run a YouTube channel called “Pulse News,” were arrested.

According to the police, the journalists recorded a video inside the BRS office, which led to their arrest.
