Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become the first Indian prime minister to visit Anandpur Dham in Madhya Pradesh’s Ashoknagar district today, marking a significant moment for the spiritual hub. The trust, established in 1939 by Advaita Anand (Paramhans Dayal), oversees a global network of 1,000 ashrams, including 36 in India, with Anandpur as its headquarters.
The Anandpur Trust has earned a reputation for its unique traditions and social initiatives, such as the 125-bed Bistara Charitable Hospital and satsang centers in cities like Shivpuri, Gwalior, Indore, Pune, and Delhi, as well as international locations. Spanning 315 hectares, the trust’s influence extends far beyond Madhya Pradesh, attracting devotees worldwide, especially during the grand Baisakhi celebrations.
