Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of 99 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Key leaders include Devendra Fadnavis, who will contest from Nagpur South West, and Chandrashekhar Bawankule, set to run from Kamthi. Meanwhile, Sreejaya Ashok Chavan, daughter of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, who switched from the Congress earlier this year, has been given a ticket to contest from Bhokar.
In the ongoing seat-sharing discussions, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray met Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala to resolve issues, with the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) reaching a consensus on 260 of the 288 Assembly seats. Talks on the remaining 30-35 seats are in the final stage. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has already announced candidates for five seats in Maharashtra at various public meetings across the state.
