Mumbai: The counting of votes for the Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 began this morning at 8 AM. Voting for all 288 assembly seats was held in a single phase on November 20. The contest this time was primarily between the Mahayuti (Grand Alliance) and the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA).
The Mahayuti comprises the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), while the Mahavikas Aghadi includes the Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction), and the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction).
As per the latest trends, the Mahayuti is heading towards a landslide victory, securing a two-thirds majority in the state assembly. This result marks a major setback for Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar, as the Mahayuti appears to have gained a decisive edge over the opposition alliance.
