Rising Cases of Rape and Murders, Public in Fear

Dharamshala: Former Assembly Speaker and BJP MLA Vipin Singh Parmar has strongly criticized the Himachal Pradesh government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. In a public statement, Parmar alleged that an atmosphere of fear is spreading, with law enforcement collapsing under the Sukhu government. He pointed out that incidents of shootings, rapes, and murders are becoming common, while the government remains inactive.

Parmar specifically mentioned the recent shooting in Bilaspur, claiming that this is not an isolated incident. Similar violent acts have occurred earlier, but the police failed to take strict action. He emphasized that if timely action had been taken, such incidents could have been prevented. He urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that all culprits face the strictest punishment to curb criminal activities in the state.

Public Safety at Risk

Parmar also criticized the intelligence department (CID), stating that instead of gathering crucial information to prevent criminal activities, the department is being misused for political surveillance. He accused Chief Minister Sukhu of deploying intelligence officers for trivial tasks such as tracking opposition leaders and Congress MLAs rather than focusing on public security.

He concluded by stating that citizens’ safety is now at the mercy of fate, urging the government to prioritize law enforcement and take immediate measures to restore order.
