Rewari: A hailstorm that struck Rewari on Thursday evening wreaked havoc, dashing the hopes of farmers. The hailstorm completely destroyed mustard crops, causing significant losses to farmers.

The severe hailstorm affected over 50 villages in Rewari, Jatusana, Bawal, and Dharuhera, leading to widespread destruction. In Dharuhera, villages like Gurjar Ghatal and Akeda Maheshwari witnessed heavy rainfall accompanied by hail, which severely damaged mustard crops. Reports indicate that crop losses range from 80% to 90%, leaving farmers deeply worried.

Earlier in the day, light rainfall had brought temporary relief from the scorching heat. However, the evening hailstorm shattered farmers’ hopes.

Sarpanch representatives Rishi Tongad (Gurjar Ghatal), Randhir Singh (Gadhi Alawalpur), and farmers like Krishna (Akeda) and Virendra expressed their concerns. They had expected a good harvest and profits this season, but the unexpected hailstorm destroyed everything.

Following Holi celebrations, affected farmers plan to meet with the district commissioner to demand compensation for their losses.
