Bhiwani, March 28, 2025 – In an unusual yet engaging display of administration, Bhiwani Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mahavir Kaushik, a 2011-batch IAS officer, recently visited Golagarh village—birthplace of former Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal—to address local grievances. During the visit on March 25 under the ‘Ratri Thaharav’ (night stay) program, Kaushik not only listened to the villagers’ concerns but also entertained them by singing a popular ragni by Pandit Lakhmi Chand on Triloki Bhagwan, fulfilling their request.
The villagers warmly appreciated the DC’s soulful rendition, a talent he has showcased on public platforms before. However, the visit wasn’t just about cultural exchange. Responding to complaints about delays in property mutation (intkaal), Kaushik took swift action by suspending the village patwari on the spot, emphasizing that negligence in duty would not be tolerated.
Beyond addressing immediate issues, the DC directed Panchayat Department officials to construct a library and gymnasium in the village, responding to the residents’ demands. Kaushik, who assumed the role of Bhiwani DC on July 24, 2024, after serving as Special Secretary in the Home and Urban Local Bodies Departments, continues to blend administrative rigor with a relatable, community-centric approach. His actions in Golagarh have sparked widespread praise among locals and on social media.
