Chandigarh: In a collaborative effort, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police conducted a search operation on the outskirts of Mehdipur village in Tarn Taran district, Punjab, on Monday. The operation, initiated in the morning based on specific information about a drone’s presence, yielded results when, at approximately 11:40 am, a Quadcopter (Model – DJI Matrice RTK 300, made in China) was discovered in a farming field adjacent to Mehdipur village.
This marks the second instance in a short span, as just days earlier, on Saturday, the BSF recovered another drone in Wan village of Tarn Taran district. While conducting an area domination patrol ahead of border fencing, BSF troops identified a suspicious item in a farming field near Wan village around 4:40 pm. Subsequent detailed search operations led to the recovery of a drone from the farming field, further emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance in border areas.
These incidents underscore the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in monitoring and preventing the use of drones for illicit activities. The recovered Quadcopter adds to the growing list of such incidents, emphasizing the need for continuous efforts to enhance border security measures and stay ahead of emerging threats.
