Kolhapur: Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bavankule criticized the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) on Thursday, accusing its leaders of seeking power solely for the position of Chief Minister. Speaking at a rally in Ichalkaranji, Bavankule claimed that leaders from various opposition parties, including Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, are motivated by personal ambitions, with Pawar looking to secure the position for his daughter, Supriya Sule.
In contrast, Bavankule asserted that the BJP aims to harness power for the benefit of the state’s 14 crore residents and their development. He emphasized that having a single party in power both at the Centre and in the state would accelerate the implementation of development projects. He warned that if the MVA were to regain power, it could lead to the discontinuation of key welfare schemes, including the ‘Ladki Bahin’ initiative.
