SRINAGAR, Feb 3 – In a significant development in the fight against terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have filed a charge sheet against seven militant associates under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in a Srinagar court.
According to officials, the case—registered under FIR No. 31/2024 at Khanyar Police Station—involves multiple charges under Sections 13, 18, 20, 23, and 38 of UAPA, along with Section 7/25 of the Arms Act. The investigation has identified eight accused, including a Pakistani terrorist code-named Usman, who was killed in a police encounter.
Key Accused and Seized Weapons
The seven charge-sheeted individuals are:
1. Imran Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Qadir Mir (Ranghamam, Nowhatta)
2. Muzamil Khursheed Wani, son of Khursheed Ahmad (Nar Paristan, currently residing at Beeruni Kathi Darwaza)
3. Umer Asif Zargar, son of Ghulam Mohammad (Kani Kadal, Chota Bazar)
4. Qazi Usman, son of Qazi Muzaffar (Haka Bazar)
5. Shahid Nazir Kalla, son of Nazir Ahmad Kalla (Babapora, Habakadal, Srinagar)
6. Sheikh Furqan, son of Sheikh Farooq Ahmad (Mir Mohalla, Khanyar, Srinagar)
7. Asif Majeed Siraj, son of Abdul Majeed (Maisuma)
The deceased Pakistani terrorist Usman was also named in the case, but an abate challan was submitted regarding him following his death in the Khanyar encounter.
During the investigation, police recovered a pistol, three pistol magazines, 24 live rounds, and three Chinese grenades from the accused.

A police spokesperson stated that the successful charge-sheeting of these individuals is a major step in dismantling terror networks operating in the region. “This marks a crucial breakthrough in our ongoing efforts to curb militancy and safeguard citizens,” the statement read.
