Shimla: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has initiated a special campaign aimed at expediting the resolution of all pending revenue cases in the state. During a review meeting with the Revenue Department, he emphasized the importance of streamlining processes to reduce the burden on citizens, who often face repeated visits to government offices.
CM Sukhu acknowledged the role of Revenue Lok Adalats in addressing cases but called for a more accelerated approach. He directed all Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to ensure that all correction cases are resolved by October 31, 2024.
To facilitate this effort, the Chief Minister instructed Deputy Commissioners to appoint nodal officers in each district responsible for monitoring pending revenue matters and providing regular reports to the government. Additionally, he authorized these officials to fill vacant positions up to Naib Tehsildar, ensuring sufficient budgetary resources are allocated for the task. Sukhu plans to revisit the progress of these initiatives in November.
In the meeting, he also reviewed the ongoing relief efforts for victims of last year’s disaster, noting that the current government has released Rs 4,500 crore in special aid to support affected families.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi and other senior officials participated in the meeting, with Deputy Commissioners joining remotely.
