Soil Health Cards to Be Distributed to All Farmers in the State: Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana
Chandigarh, February 10 – Haryana’s Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, announced the state government’s ambitious plan to ensure the distribution of soil health cards to all farmers under the ‘Har Khet-Swasth Khet’ campaign. As part of this initiative, soil samples from every acre in the state will be collected over the next three to four years. This project is aimed at providing farmers with personalized soil health cards to guide them towards sustainable farming practices.
So far, approximately 70 lakh soil samples have been collected, and 55 lakh have been analyzed. Soil health cards have already been distributed, with work on the remaining samples ongoing. The initiative has earned recognition, including a gold medal from the Skoch Group in 2022 for its effective implementation. In total, 86.65 lakh soil health cards have been distributed under the Soil Health Card Scheme.
The minister also highlighted the establishment of 17 new permanent soil and water testing laboratories across the state, as well as 54 smaller soil testing labs in mandis. Additionally, 240 small soil testing laboratories have been set up in government schools and colleges, where students are actively involved in the testing process. The department launched the ‘Har Khet-Swasth Khet’ portal in May 2022, further promoting soil testing and providing guidance to farmers.
Sh. Rana also discussed the setting up of specialized laboratories in Sirsa and Karnal to monitor pesticide residues in fruits, vegetables, soil, and water, with 3640 samples analyzed in 2023-24 alone.
Haryana Government Delivers on Promises: Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel
Chandigarh, February 10 – Haryana Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and Civil Aviation Minister, Sh. Vipul Goel, praised the state government for fulfilling its promises within the first 100 days of its new term. Sh. Goel specifically mentioned Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini’s commitment to providing 25,000 government jobs to the youth, a promise that was fulfilled even before the CM took office.
During an event in Panchkula, Sh. Goel outlined the government’s efforts to improve transportation infrastructure, including the soon-to-be operational Hisar airport, with the Government of India expected to grant the necessary license shortly. Additionally, flights from Ambala airport will begin soon, and plans are in place to introduce helicopter services from Gurugram, Faridabad, and Hisar.
Sh. Goel also emphasized the government’s inclusive development approach, stating that over the past ten and a half years, the administration has worked to ensure equal development for all sections of society. The government’s success in resolving more than 75,000 complaints through ‘Samadhan Shivir’ and addressing over 45,000 online complaints in the first 100 days shows its commitment to public welfare.
The minister highlighted that curbing corruption remains a top priority, and that the Haryana government is committed to maintaining transparency and accountability. He assured the public that the administration would not tolerate any form of corruption. Furthermore, Sh. Goel expressed confidence in the government’s performance in the upcoming municipal elections, predicting victories in all 34 municipal bodies.
Sh. Goel attributed the government’s continued success and public trust to the leadership of Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, a Chief Minister known for his simplicity and accessibility. The minister concluded by asserting that the government would continue to push Haryana towards new milestones of progress in the coming years.
