Chandigarh Bureau: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its third list of candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections today, featuring 11 new names. The candidates are Col Rajendra Rawat for Hathin, Mahender Dahiya for Jhajjar, Rajesh Saroha for Rai, Amar Singh for Nilokheri, Satish Yadav for Rewari, Bheem Singh Rathi for Radaur, Amit Kumar for Israna, Manjeet Farmana for Kharkhauda, Pravin Guskhani for Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, Naresh Bagri for Kalanaur, and Suneel Rao for Ateli.
Earlier today, the AAP also unveiled its second list of nine candidates. This follows the release of the first list of 20 candidates on Monday.
The announcements come after the collapse of seat-sharing talks between AAP and Congress. Although both parties had worked together for the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana, they are contesting separately in this Assembly election. Haryana AAP chief Sushil Gupta confirmed that the party will field candidates in all 90 constituencies.
Punjab Congress leader Raj Kumar Verka criticized AAP’s leadership, accusing them of arrogance and poor coordination. Verka suggested that the party’s failure to secure an alliance was due to its own shortcomings, claiming AAP lacks a significant voter base in Haryana.
The deadline for filing nomination papers is September 12. Voting will occur on October 5, with the results announced on October 8.
