Jag Mohan Thaken, Chandigarh: Haryana’s Governor Bandaru Dattatraya delivered a call to action for the state’s legislators, urging them to embrace their roles with a focus on public welfare and development as part of the ‘Viksit Haryana – Viksit Bharat’ mission. Speaking at the first session of the 15th Vidhan Sabha, Dattatraya reflected on Haryana’s transformation over the past decade and emphasized that the state’s progress must continue.
A Vision for Progress and Welfare
Governor Dattatraya highlighted the need for cohesive efforts in the Assembly, urging MLAs to fully utilize their time for the benefit of Haryana’s citizens. “Every decision in this House should prioritize the welfare of the people, ensuring no barriers disrupt our shared goal of a developed Haryana within a developed India,” he said, expressing optimism that the Assembly will set a new standard in public-centered legislation.
He commended the state’s voters, the Election Commission, and election workers for their role in a peaceful and democratic election. Notably, 40 new members join the Assembly, and the number of women legislators increased to 13, reflecting a shift towards greater representation.
Commitment to Development and Social Justice
Reflecting on a decade of governance, Dattatraya asserted that the current government’s policies are anchored in values of transparency, unity, and inclusive growth. He referenced Mahatma Gandhi’s guiding principle to assess every decision by its impact on society’s most vulnerable. The Governor reminded MLAs that they are representatives of 2.75 crore people, tasked with championing their rights and addressing their needs.
He praised the government’s commitment to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s vision of “Antyodaya,” a core philosophy that shapes the inclusive “Haryana Ek – Haryanvi Ek” ethos. According to Dattatraya, this commitment includes policies supporting education, healthcare, safety, self-reliance, and self-respect, ensuring that every community in Haryana benefits.
Fostering Economic Growth and Social Security
The Governor further highlighted Haryana’s economic accomplishments, noting the state’s rising per capita income, enhanced industrial presence, and advancements in social security and agricultural innovation. “With the integration of science and technology, Haryana is evolving rapidly, proving that our vision of progress is both practical and achievable,” he added.
Governor Dattatraya concluded by emphasizing the government’s five-year roadmap focused on uplifting all communities. “When the state thrives, so does the nation,” he said, reiterating the government’s dedication to sustaining non-stop growth for all.
