Governor Bandaru Dattatraya Offers Prayers at Saketri Temple on Mahashivratri

Chandigarh, February 26 – Haryana Governor Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya, along with his family, visited the ancient Saketri temple on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, offering prayers for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state.

Speaking to mediapersons, the Governor highlighted the growing spirit of spirituality across the globe, noting that 67 crore devotees have participated in the Mahakumbh. “It is a unique confluence in the world, and it seems that spiritual consciousness is on the rise globally,” he remarked.

Expressing hope for India’s spiritual leadership, Governor Dattatraya stated that India will once again emerge as a global beacon of peace and wisdom. He reiterated Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) and urged everyone to contribute towards achieving this goal. “Haryana should also strive for prosperity, ensuring that farmers and underprivileged sections of society live in peace and harmony,” he added.

The Governor emphasized the power of ‘Om’, describing it as a force that brings goodwill and positive energy to humanity. “Lord Shiva is the source of this divine energy, and may it enlighten everyone’s life—that is the essence of today’s celebration,” he said.

Accompanying the Governor were Bandaru Shiv Shankar, Bandaru Dinesh Kumar, and Bandaru Vinod Kumar. As a mark of respect, KD Sharma, Head of Navdurga Charitable Trust, Shiv Mandir Saketri, along with Deputy Head Rakesh Sangar, presented a statue of Lord Shiva to the Governor. Several dignitaries, including Trust General Secretary Vinod Sharma, DCP Himadri Kaushik, ADC Nisha Yadav, SDM Chandrakant Kataria, and other officials, were also present on the occasion.
