ECI to Organize Two-Day Conference for Chief Electoral Officers on March 4-5

Chandigarh, February 27: The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to organize a two-day conference with the Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of all States and Union Territories at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management, New Delhi, on March 4 and 5, 2025.

Providing details about the event, Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer, Pankaj Aggarwal, stated that this will be the first such conference since Sh. Gyanesh Kumar took charge as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India.

The CEOs have been directed to nominate a District Election Officer (DEO) and an Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) to participate in the conference. These officials hold statutory responsibilities and play crucial roles at the State, District, and Assembly Constituency levels in the electoral process.

Key Agendas of the Conference

The conference aims to provide a collaborative platform for election officials to exchange ideas, brainstorm strategies, and learn from each other’s experiences.

On Day 1, discussions will focus on:

  • Modern Election Management
  • IT Architecture for Elections
  • Effective Communication Strategies
  • Enhancing Social Media Outreach
  • Statutory Roles of Election Functionaries

On Day 2, CEOs from various States and UTs will present their action plans, aligning them with the thematic discussions from the previous day.

The conference is expected to enhance coordination among electoral officials and strengthen election management strategies across the country.
