PM Modi Slams AAP & Congress for ‘Deceit and Foolishness’
New Delhi, February 8, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) victory in the Delhi Assembly elections as “historic,” asserting that the people of the national capital have rejected “politics of deceit and foolishness.” Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters, Modi launched a scathing attack on both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress, claiming that Delhi voters have “short-circuited the politics of short-cuts.”
‘AAP-da’ Politics Rejected, Double-Engine Government to Boost Development
Referring to AAP as ‘AAP-da’ (a play on ‘Aapda,’ meaning disaster in Hindi), Modi criticized the party for failing to deliver on its promises, accusing it of corruption and dishonesty. “These people entered politics claiming they would change it, but they turned out to be kattar beimaan (most dishonest),” he remarked.
With BJP’s victory, Modi assured that Delhi’s governance will now progress at “double speed” under the leadership of a double-engine government—referring to BJP’s rule at both the state and central levels.
Congress ‘Parasitic,’ Destroying Allies Nationwide
Taking aim at the Congress, Modi called it a “parasitic” party that is undermining its own allies. “Congress has not learned from its repeated failures. It steals the issues and language of regional parties to weaken them,” he said, citing examples from Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Bihar. Modi warned that any party aligning with Congress faces inevitable downfall.
‘Urban Naxal Politics’ and the Fight for Political Transformation
Modi accused both AAP and Congress of indulging in “urban Naxal thinking,” stating that their rhetoric promotes chaos rather than governance. He referenced recent remarks by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who claimed they were fighting the Indian State itself. “This mindset is dangerous. India needs a serious political transformation, not the politics of deceit (dhoort-ta) and foolishness (moorkhta),” he emphasized.
BJP’s Stronghold in Delhi and National Capital Region
For the first time in history, BJP now governs all states in the National Capital Region (NCR), a development Modi called a “landmark achievement.” He highlighted how Delhi has consistently supported BJP in general elections, securing all seven parliamentary seats in 2014, 2019, and 2024.
People’s Verdict: No Room for Corruption and Lies
Concluding his speech, Modi thanked Delhi voters for their trust in “Modi ki guarantee” and their rejection of dishonest governance. He reiterated that this mandate sends a clear message—there is no room for corruption in Indian politics.
BJP’s Resurgence in Delhi After 26 Years
The BJP’s return to power in Delhi after more than two decades marks a turning point in the city’s political landscape. The resounding victory has left AAP reeling, with several of its top leaders struggling to hold onto their seats. Meanwhile, Congress has suffered another humiliating defeat, failing to secure a single seat for the sixth consecutive time.
As Delhi enters a new political era, the focus now shifts to how BJP’s governance will reshape the capital’s future.
