New Delhi, February 11, 2025 – After facing a major setback in the Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal held a crucial meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and 91 party MLAs to strategize for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. The meeting, held at Kapurthala House in New Delhi, aimed to reinforce party unity and counter speculation of internal dissent.

No Rift in Punjab AAP, Says Kejriwal

Amid opposition claims of instability, Kejriwal assured that AAP’s Punjab government remains strong. Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa’s recent statement suggesting that 30 AAP MLAs were in contact with his party was dismissed by CM Mann, who called it baseless.

“This is Congress’s old habit of spreading rumors. They have been saying this for the last three years,” Mann retorted.

AAP Analyzes Delhi Defeat, Accuses BJP of Malpractices

The Delhi election results prompted AAP leaders to assess their campaign strategy. Party insiders revealed that the BJP’s alleged tactics of voter inducement played a role in their defeat.

“We had to file complaints with the Election Commission every four hours due to BJP’s distribution of gifts,” Mann alleged. Despite the loss, AAP leaders emphasized their commitment to learning from the experience and refining their approach.

AAP’s Roadmap for Punjab: New Agrarian Model & Welfare Initiatives

Looking ahead, AAP’s Punjab leadership discussed strategies to strengthen governance and introduce reforms beneficial to farmers. Mann emphasized that his government remains dedicated to its promises, including:

Rs 1,000 monthly allowance for women (though a deadline was not announced).

Dismantling toll plazas, saving commuters Rs 62 lakh per day.

Expanding welfare schemes beyond the party’s manifesto commitments.

“We are committed to spending public money for the welfare of Punjab’s people,” Mann stated.

AAP’s Punjab Strategy: Strengthening Grassroots Support

With 2027 elections on the horizon, AAP leaders are focusing on grassroots mobilization. Analysts believe that despite the Delhi setback, AAP’s governance model in Punjab could play a key role in rebuilding voter trust.

As opposition parties attempt to capitalize on AAP’s recent loss, the party is now gearing up for a strong comeback in Punjab, doubling down on its reform-driven approach to governance.

Kejriwal’s meeting with Punjab MLAs signals a renewed focus on state politics, with an emphasis on stability, governance, and public welfare. While challenges remain, AAP aims to rebuild momentum and counter opposition narratives in the run-up to the 2027 elections.
