New Delhi: In the lead-up to the Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of engaging in hooliganism and targeting AAP workers. He claimed that Delhi Police is fearful and helpless in handling the situation. Kejriwal further questioned who the “biggest goonda” (thug) in the country is, suggesting that even the Election Commission and Delhi Police appear powerless in front of this individual.

During a press conference on the last day of campaigning for the February 5 elections, Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Rajiv Kumar, accusing him of compromising democracy for personal gain.
Kejriwal asked, “Who is the biggest goonda in this country who is not afraid of the law? Who is the goonda arresting journalists and openly attacking AAP workers and supporters? Who is the goonda who has Delhi Police taking orders and feeling helpless and afraid?”
Comparing the governance of AAP and BJP, Kejriwal said, “On one hand, a party is saving Rs 25,000 per month for the common man, and on the other hand, a party is involved in hooliganism.”
Referring to CEC Rajiv Kumar, Kejriwal appealed to him not to jeopardize democracy in hopes of securing a post-retirement job. “Do not gamble with the future of the country,” he said.
The Delhi elections are scheduled for February 5, with the BJP aiming to end AAP’s rule and bring Congress back into power. The results will be announced on February 8. Kejriwal also harshly criticized the Chief Election Commissioner, advising him to follow the law and questioning what post Rajiv Kumar might be receiving after his retirement.
