New Delhi | February 7, 2025 – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has alleged that the Election Commission (EC) is refusing to upload Form 17C, which details the number of votes polled at each booth in the Delhi Assembly elections.
A day before the vote counting, Kejriwal claimed that despite multiple requests, the EC has not made the data public. In response, AAP has launched a website where it has uploaded the Form 17C data for all Assembly seats, allowing voters to access polling details.
“This form contains crucial polling data. The Election Commission should have ensured transparency by making it public, but since they have refused, we are taking this step,” Kejriwal posted on X (formerly Twitter).
However, the Election Commission countered the claims, stating that it has fully complied with Rule 49S of the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961. According to the EC, presiding officers had already provided Form 17C data to polling agents present at the booths on February 5, the day of voting.
“As per the rules, every polling agent was given a copy of Form 17C on the day of polling. The process has been followed in both letter and spirit,” the EC’s office stated.
The controversy has sparked debate over electoral transparency just as Delhi awaits the final election results.
