With just days to go before the Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has issued a strong appeal to BJP supporters, urging them to consider how his government’s policies have benefited them. In a recently released video message, Kejriwal warned that a BJP victory could put an end to free electricity, water, healthcare, and free bus travel for women, potentially increasing household expenses by ₹25,000 per month.
“If I Lose, What Will Happen to You?” Kejriwal Asks BJP Supporter
In the three-minute video, Kejriwal recounted a conversation with a BJP voter who asked, “Arvind ji, what will happen to you if you lose?” The AAP chief responded with a counter-question: “Don’t worry about me. Tell me what will happen to you if I lose?” He then explained how Delhi residents have benefited from his government’s policies and emphasized the risks of electing the BJP.
Kejriwal specifically focused on education, citing the transformation of Delhi’s government schools under his leadership. He asked the BJP supporter where his children studied, and the man acknowledged they were enrolled in a government school. When asked about the school’s condition, the supporter admitted that it had improved significantly, with better teachers and higher-quality education.
Kejriwal then posed a crucial question: “How many states does the BJP govern?” The voter responded, “20 states.” Kejriwal pressed further, asking, “In which BJP-ruled state are government schools as good as Delhi’s?” The voter hesitated before admitting, “Nowhere.”
The AAP chief warned that if his party lost, Delhi’s government schools could deteriorate like those in BJP-ruled states, affecting the future of millions of students.
BJP Victory Could Mean the End of Free Electricity and Water
Moving on to the issue of electricity, Kejriwal asked the voter if he received 24×7 electricity in Delhi. The supporter confirmed that he did. Kejriwal then questioned, “In which BJP-ruled state do people get uninterrupted electricity?” The voter thought for a moment before conceding, “Nowhere.”
Kejriwal followed up by asking about the voter’s electricity bill, to which the man responded, “Zero.” Comparing this to BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, Kejriwal pointed out that residents there pay thousands of rupees every month for electricity. He again asked, “So if I lose, what will happen to you?”
Highlighting the contrast between Delhi and BJP-led states, Kejriwal warned that free electricity, quality education, and affordable healthcare could vanish if the BJP came to power in Delhi.
AAP Urges Voters to Consider Their Future, Not Just Politics
Kejriwal’s message aimed to shift voter focus away from party loyalty and toward real-life benefits. He stressed that the policies implemented by the AAP government had significantly improved the quality of life for Delhi residents, ensuring access to free education, healthcare, electricity, and public transport.
He concluded by urging citizens to vote in their own interest rather than being swayed by party lines. “Vote for yourself and press the ‘Jhaadu’ (broom) button,” he said, emphasizing that an AAP defeat would directly impact the daily lives of Delhi’s residents.
With the Delhi Assembly elections set for February 5, Kejriwal’s appeal underscores the high stakes of this electoral battle, positioning AAP as the party that prioritizes public welfare over politics.
