Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress during a high-energy campaign rally in Delhi, asserting that neither party has the capability to develop the national capital. Shah’s remarks came as he intensified the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, addressing large gatherings and leading vibrant roadshows to rally support for BJP candidates.
Roadshow in Kasturba Nagar
Shah kicked off his campaign with a massive roadshow from Mool Chand Metro Station to Garhi Chowk in the Kasturba Nagar constituency. Dressed in a saffron shirt paired with a black sleeveless jacket, the BJP leader waved to enthusiastic supporters as his vehicle moved slowly through the crowded streets. BJP candidate Neeraj Basoya, contesting against AAP’s Ramesh Pehalwan, stood alongside Shah, along with New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj.
The atmosphere was electric, with supporters chanting slogans like “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” “Jai Shri Ram,”and “Vote for BJP.” Drums and trumpets echoed through the streets, while residents leaned out of their balconies to catch a glimpse of the BJP’s star campaigner.
Kalkaji Rally: Shah Seeks Votes for Ramesh Bidhuri
Later, Shah addressed a packed crowd in Kalkaji, where he urged voters to support BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri, whom he described as a “dear friend” and a dedicated public servant. Shah used the platform to criticize AAP’s allegations against the Haryana government, particularly claims of “mixing poison in the Yamuna.”
“Kejriwal ji, winning and losing are part of elections, but accusing the Haryana government of poisoning the Yamuna and scaring Delhi residents is cheap politics,” Shah said. He emphasized that such tactics reflect AAP’s desperation and lack of credibility.
Shah Takes Aim at AAP and Congress
In his 23-minute speech, Shah targeted both AAP and the Congress, accusing them of failing Delhi. He labeled AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal as the “biggest liar” and criticized Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for his recent comments about taking a dip at the Kumbh Mela.
Shah responded to Kharge’s remarks by stating, “The Congress, under Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, has always insulted Sanatana Dharma. Kharge Sahab, if you don’t have faith, that’s fine, but don’t mock the beliefs of 48 crore people.”
BJP’s Development Agenda for Delhi
Shah reiterated the BJP’s commitment to Delhi’s development, contrasting it with what he called the “empty promises” of AAP and the Congress. He urged voters to support the BJP to ensure a brighter future for the capital, emphasizing the party’s track record of delivering on its promises.
As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, Shah’s aggressive campaigning and sharp critiques of rival parties have set the stage for a high-stakes political battle. The BJP is leaving no stone unturned to reclaim Delhi, with Shah leading the charge as the party’s key campaigner.
