In the early 1990s, his economic circumstances were not ideal in Rohtak, Haryana, where he was born and raised in a middle-class family, but he refused to give up in the face of adversity. Yogesh, who enjoyed singing in school, studied film acting at the State Institute of Film and Television in Rohtak before moving to Mumbai in 2016 and never looked back then.

When and how did you first consider making a career out of acting?

I used to write plays, direct them, and act on them on my own in high school. I used to write songs to the tunes of popular movie songs. I rose to prominence in school and the village at a young age. But I never considered making it a profession because my family’s financial situation was dire, and I needed to finish my studies and find work as soon as possible. After schooling, I went on to study BSC at a nearby college and participated in the college’s youth festival because I had always been interested in cultural activities. At the time, famous actor Jaideep Ahlawat also arrived from Mumbai. His acting abilities and personality astounded me. Also, the level of practice provided by our director, Alkesh Dalal. It had a profound effect on my mind. Even after working 22 hours a day, I was not tired and had a great time. I knew this was the best thing I could do. Seeing my work, the applause of the audience, and the encouragement of Jaideep Ahlawat confirmed my decision. In 2012, I joined the Film Institute of the State University of Visual and Arts (Supva).

How has your journey in the film industry been so far?

After five years of acting training in Supva, worked in Haryana for about three years. Also worked as a lead actor in three films, two of which I co-directed. And left for Mumbai at the end of December 2017 to pursue my dreams. After arriving in Mumbai, I had the opportunity to meet with famous casting director Jogi Malang and learned a lot about acting and the film industry.

Later, Vidhu Vinod Chopra cast me in my first major motion picture, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, in a minor role opposite Rajkummar Rao. After that, appeared in movies like S.P. Chauhan and Satellite Shankar Dada Lakhmi as various characters. Performed in the web series College Kand as the series’ main actor. In addition to this, appeared as the lead actor in roughly ten short films that won numerous local, national, and international accolades.

Which movies are coming out soon?

“Chipkali”, starring Bollywood legend Yashpal Sharma , will be released next month, on March 17. I play the lead, as Rudraksha Roy is a private investigator. Aside from that, there’s a film starring Pankaj Tripathi. The name has not yet been decided, but the filming has concluded. And will have a significant role in the film 1600 meters.

As a graduate in cinema acting, In film schools, we see thousands of films, each of which serves as a teaching tool. Students are exposed to films from almost every country.

Lost is an upcoming social drama that will air on Zee5 on February 16. It was directed by Anirudh Roy Chowdhury, who is best known for his work on the popular movie Pink. The movie stars well-known actors including Pankaj Kapoor and Yami Gautam. When I got to know that I was acting opposite Pankaj sir, I couldn’t believe it for a long time. Acting with him is one of the biggest achievements of my life. My character in the film is mysterious, so I can’t reveal anything about him here right now. For that, you have to watch the film.
