The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to announce its manifesto for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on sunday. Aparna Yadav, who recently joined the BJP before the manifesto was released, has revealed a promise made in it that women will receive a present if Yogi Adityanath’s administration is re-elected in 2022. According to him, the BJP has vowed to raise women’s pensions.
Aparna Yadav revealed this in a Saturday TV interview with Zee UP, while supporting the Yogi government. “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath formed the lioness squad, formed the Anti Romeo Squad, the Sumangala plan is ongoing, women’s pension has been raised from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500, which was just announced in the manifesto,” he said. That is why the Chief Minister is grateful for his strong commitment to women.
Significantly, there has been a lot of discussion on the role of women in the BJP’s massive triumph in the two elections held in Uttar Pradesh after 2014, in 2017 and 2019. Thousands of women have benefited from the central government’s PM Jan-Dhan and Ujjwala Yojana programmes, and the BJP has reaped electoral dividends as a result. The BJP is expected to make some bold promises in the new resolution letter, with a focus on women.
Pensions have recently been increased.
The Yogi government doubled the monthly stipend for senior people, women, and disabled persons just before the assembly elections. With effect from December 1, 2021, the pension was enhanced from Rs 500 to Rs 1000.
