New Delhi: Emmanuel Bonne, the diplomatic advisor to French President Emmanuel Macron, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Thursday, with the latter emphasizing the two countries’ close cooperation in various fields.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Modi emphasized cooperation in areas of strategic partnership between the two countries, such as defense, security, and the Indo-Pacific region, and welcomed France’s support for India’s G20 presidency.
According to the statement, Bonne conveyed Macron’s message of friendship to the prime minister and briefed him on the strategic dialogue with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval earlier in the day.
Discussions were also held on other areas of mutual interest and cooperation including energy and culture.
Earlier, Mr. Bonne met with External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar. They had a useful exchange of views on current issues of mutual interest.
