Mahendragarh: The filming of the Haryanvi feature ‘Dhundh’ has successfully concluded under the direction of Yogesh Vats, who also wrote and produced the film. Set against the rustic backdrop of southern Haryana, ‘Dhundh’ delves into the lives of a small family comprising a father, mother, and their daughter, residing in a secluded environment surrounded by mustard and wheat fields.
Starring Akanksha Bharadwaj, Pratap Singh Vishwasi, and Roshni Devi in pivotal roles, the film aims to encapsulate the essence of rural life in this region. The cinematography for ‘Dhundh’ was handled by Lokesh Saini, who collaborated closely with Vats to visually narrate the intricacies of the story.
Director Yogesh Vats explained that the title ‘Dhundh,’ which translates to ‘fog’ in English, symbolizes moments in life when clarity seems obscured, reflecting the challenges faced by the characters in the narrative. The shooting primarily took place in the vicinity of Kanina, located in the Mohindergarh district of southern Haryana.
Expressing his vision for the film, Vats emphasized capturing the authentic essence of rural southern Haryana, portraying its unique cultural tapestry and scenic beauty. He intends to showcase ‘Dhundh’ at various film festivals to bring the narrative to a broader audience and highlight the nuances of life in this lesser-explored region.
The completion of filming marks a significant milestone for the production team, as they now move forward with post-production activities to prepare ‘Dhundh’ for its anticipated debut on the festival circuit. With its thematic depth and local authenticity, ‘Dhundh’ promises to offer viewers a poignant portrayal of life in rural south Haryana through the eyes of its compelling characters.
