Rewari: On Tuesday, the Haryana State Child Rights Protection Commission, in collaboration with district administrative officials, conducted a comprehensive inspection of school buses in Rewari. The inspection was carried out under the Road Safety and Safe School Vehicle Policy, focusing on key safety measures including fitness certificates, route plates, insurance, driving licenses, first aid boxes, CCTV cameras, driver uniforms, assistants, fire extinguishers, speed governors, and emergency helpline numbers.
As a result of non-compliance with these regulations, more than 100 school buses were fined. Suman Rana, a member of the Haryana State Child Rights Protection Commission, stated that schools with deficiencies in their buses were given instructions to address the issues. She also mentioned that the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) and Traffic Police were directed to continue this campaign regularly.
The Education Department has been instructed to ensure the implementation of the Safe School Vehicle Policy in all schools and conduct periodic checks.
Focus on Children’s Safety
Suman Rana emphasized that the Haryana State Child Rights Protection Commission is committed to the safety of children. Ensuring the proper implementation of the Safe School Vehicle Policy across the state is a key objective of the Commission, with the goal of preventing any accidents involving children.
The Commission also urged parents to avoid sending their children in unsafe vehicles. It was highlighted that many schools have ongoing deficiencies, and relevant authorities have been ordered to rectify these issues promptly, or face strict action.
This initiative reflects the Commission’s commitment to ensuring safer school transportation for children in Haryana.
