Sirsa: Retired Sub-Inspector Rajaram Bishnoi, a resident of Khanna Colony in Sirsa, has been running from pillar to post at Khairpur Police Chowki for the past five days, but has yet to receive any justice. The incident dates back to November 10, when a neighbor’s child threw a stone at his parked car, shattering the glass. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and children playing in the street informed him about it.
When Rajaram Bishnoi approached his neighbor for compensation for the damage to his vehicle, he was met with verbal abuse. Frustrated, he filed a complaint at the Khairpur Police Chowki, but there was no action taken. Instead, the police officers advised him to forgive the accused and drop the matter, telling him that no offense had been committed and thus, no action could be taken.
Rajaram Bishnoi spoke to the media, expressing his frustration with the lack of response from the police. “I have been visiting Khairpur Chowki for the last five days, but due to the negligence of the officers, I am not getting any justice,” he said. He added that while the police officers seemed to have plenty of time to rest at the chowki, they had no time to investigate the incident. He has now called for action against the police personnel at Khairpur Chowki for their inaction.
Bishnoi further stated, “The police officers are spending their time resting instead of inspecting the scene. A Home Guard official took the statements of the children, but the police have done nothing. I demand that those officers who claimed that no offense had occurred be sent for re-training, and those who are idle at the chowki be placed on leave.”
He also raised an important point, saying, “If retired police personnel can’t get a hearing, how can an ordinary citizen expect justice?”
Rajaram Bishnoi’s struggle highlights the ongoing concerns about police negligence and lack of accountability in dealing with public complaints. He has demanded that the responsible officers be held accountable and that necessary action be taken to ensure that justice is served.
