In Latur, Maharashtra, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressed the public, asserting that citizens are increasingly recognizing what she described as a pattern of dishonesty and deception within Prime Minister Modi’s government and his cabinet ministers.
Priyanka emphasized that Modi and his ministers are now realizing a shift in public sentiment, where people demand truthfulness. She criticized the timing of gas cylinder price reductions, alleging that they were politically motivated ahead of elections.
The Congress leader also criticized the Maharashtra government, referring to it as a “60 per cent government,” insinuating corruption. She questioned Modi’s claims of fighting corruption, pointing to the electoral bond scheme.
Furthermore, Priyanka claimed that Modi appeared “nervous” after the initial phase of polling for the Lok Sabha polls, suggesting a potential threat to democracy if his party secures power again.
Maharashtra is set to vote in 11 seats during the third phase on May 7, with 13 seats already voted upon in the preceding phases. The voting in the second phase recorded a turnout of approximately 60.96 per cent across 88 constituencies. The election results are slated for announcement on June 4.
