PM congratulates Jagdeep Dhankhar on becoming Veep

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated renowned lawyer and former West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on becoming the 14th Vice President of the country.

Sharing photos of the swearing-in of the Vice President, Prime Minister Modi tweeted, Attended the swearing-in ceremony of Dhankhar. I congratulate him on becoming the Vice President of India and wish him all the best for his successful tenure.

BJP president JP Nadda also congratulated Dhankar on becoming the chairperson on Rajya Sabha.

On August 6, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar was elected Vice President by defeating the opposition candidate Margaret Alva. Jagdeep Dhankhar got 528 votes while Margaret Alva got 182 votes.
