Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde with his group of ministers decided to reduce the price of petrol by Rs 5 and diesel by Rs 3.
It will lead to a financial burden of Rs 6,000 crore on the state coffers. The Chief Minister said that he would cover this financial burden with other sources and development works of the state will not be affected.
The Chief Minister told reporters on Thursday that now the election of Sarpanch and Municipal President will be conducted directly by the voters in the state.
Shinde said that this decision was taken in 2018, which was revoked by the previous government. In view of the demand of public representatives, this decision has been taken in the Group of Ministers.
Similarly, the pension scheme for the families living in jail during the emergency will be started again. This scheme was also stopped by the previous government. There are 3,600 beneficiaries in the state for this scheme and applications from 800 people have come for this scheme. These applications will be scrutinized immediately.
The Chief Minister said that an announcement was made to give grant to the farmers who have paid regular loans in the state, but the decision could not be taken. It has been decided to finalize this decision in the meeting of the Group of Ministers. Similarly, in the meeting, it has been decided to implement ‘Swachh Maharashtra Abhiyan’ and ‘Atal Amrit Abhiyan’ in the state on the lines of the Central Government.
