New Delhi: Sanjay Raut, the leader of the Shiv Sena, will be turned over to the law enforcement authorities before a special court on Monday. Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena lawmaker, was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday, and that detention was prolonged until August 8 by a special court in Mumbai.
While extending Raut’s incarceration, the court had stated that the ED had made great progress in the investigation.
The central investigative agency apprehended Raut on July 31 in relation to alleged financial irregularities in the reconstruction of Patra Chawl (old row tenement) in suburban Goregaon and related financial property transactions involving his wife and suspected cronies.

The judge had mandated that he stay in ED custody until August 4 on August 1.
After his initial incarceration, the investigating agency brought Raut before Judge M.G. Deshpande of the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court. It requested an extension of his custody so that more research could be done on the situation.
After hearing arguments from both parties, the court extended the detention until August 8.
