Today is International Red Cross Day. Every year on this day, the Red Cross Movement celebrates the wonderful work that it undertakes all around the world. The goal is also to recognise the volunteers for their extraordinary contributions to those in need. This day also marks the birth anniversary of Henri Dunant, the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Health Minister, has invited everyone to join hands to serve mankind and do their part to alleviate human suffering. He urged people to appreciate the efforts of millions of volunteers throughout the world who are working tirelessly to make the world a better and happier place.
On World Red Cross Day, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu praised the remarkable work of Red Cross volunteers for their multi-faceted humanitarian activities and unwavering support for those in need.
Mr Naidu said in a tweet that their goal and efforts represent India’s underlying culture of sharing and caring.
