Jammu: National Medical Commission (NMC) and Dental Council of India (DCI) have advised Indians not to travel to Pakistan to pursue medical or dental education.

According to Secretary NMC and Secretary DCI, students need to take security clearance from Ministry of Home Affairs to study in Pakistan. Students with Pakistan degrees after 2018, in any case, would not be able to seek employment in India.

Any Indian national/overseas citizen of India who intends to take admission in MBBS/BDS in any college of Pakistan would not be eligible for appearing in FMGE/screening test or seeking employment in India, NMC Secretary and DCI Secretary said in a statement.

“However, migrants and their children who have acquired medical/dental degree or higher education in Pakistan and have been awarded citizenship by India would continue to be eligible for appearing in FMGE/ NEXT/screening test or seeking employment in India after obtaining Security Clearance from MHA”, stated NMC and DCI.
