New Delhi : Receiving maximum number of letters regarding the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the youth to visit the museum with their friends.
In his Mann ki Baat programme aired on All India Radio today, Modi said that International Museum Day would be celebrated all over the world on May 18, so why not visit some of the local museums with your circle of friends during the upcoming holidays. Do share your experience.
He said that the Prime Minister’s Museum has been inaugurated on April 14, the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Sarthak ji living in Gurugram came to see the museum as soon as he got the first opportunity. He has written about such things of PM Sangrahalaya on the NaMo app, which piqued his curiosity.
‘Amrit Kal’ was the right time to remember the contribution of all the Prime Ministers of the country, he said in the 88th editition of Mann Ki Baat.
People from all over the country have written him letters and sent messages about the Sangrahalaya. Modi also recalled the contributions of former Prime Ministers of the country.
Modi also announced to start a museum quiz to make the youth aware of the history of the country.
Referring to mathematics a subject with which Indians should be most comfortable at they have contributed the most in the subject, he said that maths has never been a difficult subject for Indians and a big reason for this was our Vedic mathematics.
The credit of Vedic mathematics in modern times goes to Bharati Krishna Tirtha Maharaj. He refined the ancient methods of calculation and named it Vedic mathematics.
The Prime Minister said that the most important thing about Vedic Mathematics was that through this you could do even the most difficult calculations with the blink of an eye. Nowadays, videos of many such youth learning and teaching Vedic maths were also available on social media.
He said that you must have heard about the discovery of zero. Had it not been for the discovery of zero, perhaps we would not have seen such progress in science.
During the discussion on Pariksha Pe Charcha recently, the Prime Minister, while mentioning the fear of the students regarding the examination of Mathematics, said that he has also received many messages in this regard.
Often you will also hear that if zero was not discovered, then perhaps we would not have been able to see so much scientific progress of the world.
During the event, the Prime Minister interacted with Gaurav Tekriwal of Kolkata, who taught Vedic Mathematics.
Talking about the importance of water in the program ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi said that every effort related to water was related to our tomorrow. The whole society has a responsibility in this regard. Modi said that for centuries, different societies have been continuously making their own efforts for water conservation. While explaining the importance of water, Modi also mentioned a Sanskrit verse. He said, “Paniyam paramam loke, jeevanam jeevanam samritam i.e. water is the basis of life of every living being in the world. Water is also the biggest resource, so our ancestors also laid so much emphasis on water conservation.
He said that from Vedas to Puranas, the work of saving water, making ponds and lakes etc. has been described as the social and spiritual duty of man. In Valmiki Ramayana, special emphasis has been given to link water sources and water conservation.
Referring to history, the Prime Minister said that the students of history would know that even during the Indus-Saraswati and Harappan civilizations, India used to have advanced water technology. In ancient times, water sources in many cities were intertwined.
Describing the importance of water, the Prime Minister said that at that time the population was not that much, there was no shortage of natural resources. There was a kind of abundance. Yet the awareness about water conservation was very high. But, today the situation is opposite. I urge all of you to know about such old ponds, wells and lakes in your area. Due to the Amrit Sarovar Abhiyan, along with water conservation, the identity of your area will also be created.
He further said that in the 75th year of independence i.e. Amrit Mahotsav, water conservation was one of the resolutions with which the country was moving forward.
During the Amrit Mahotsav, 75 Amrit Sarovar will be built in every district of the country.
