Mumbai: Actor Krithi Shetty, known for her brief role in the Hrithik Roshan-starring “Super 30,” has expressed her openness to taking on more Hindi films, given her comfort with the language.

Born and raised in Mumbai, Shetty played a minor, unnamed role in the 2019 film “Super 30.” She transitioned into the South film industry with the Telugu film “Uppena” in 2021. Since then, she has appeared in Tamil films “The Warrior” and “Custody” and is now awaiting the release of her debut Malayalam film “ARM,” which stars Tovino Thomas.

“I don’t think ‘Super 30’ was even a role; I was just part of the crowd,” Shetty told PTI. “Hindi is my most comfortable language as I was born and brought up in Mumbai. Working in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam required me to learn those languages, so doing a Hindi film feels organic and exciting. I’m open to it and look forward to the experience.”

“ARM” is a pan-India fantasy drama set to release on September 12 in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. Shetty described her experience working on the Malayalam film as “warm and inspiring.”

“In Malayalam cinema, the focus is on raw, authentic, and organic performances. I was a bit nervous as it was my first time working in Malayalam, but I received excellent guidance,” she said. “I’ve always aspired to bring a raw and authentic touch to my acting, and ‘ARM’ provided me with the right space to do that.”

Directed by debut filmmaker Jithin Lal and written by Sujith Nambiar, “ARM” is a visual spectacle set in northern Kerala across three timelines—1900, 1950, and 1990. The film features Thomas in a triple role, portraying the characters of Maniyan, Kunjikkelu, and Ajayan, who each strive to protect a treasure of land across generations.

Lal shared that the film, which marks Thomas’ 50th movie, was not initially planned as such. “We began working on it eight years ago. It evolved into Thomas’ 50th film naturally, as I wanted him to take on something different, hence the triple role,” Lal explained.
