New Delhi: India on Saturday questioned Germany’s silence on Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. India has said that serious and thoughtful members of the international fraternity should campaign against international terrorism, especially cross-border terrorism.

Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi came in response to media queries on comments made regarding Jammu and Kashmir during the recent joint press conference of foreign ministers of Germany and Pakistan.

Bagchi said the union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been bearing the brunt of the cross-border terrorist operation for decades, this period of terror is still going on. Foreign nationals have also been victims of this, as well as there have been terrorist attacks in other parts of India, he said, the United Nations Security Council and the FATF are still pursuing Pakistan-based terrorists involved in the gruesome 26/11 attacks. Some countries do not recognize such threats, he said, such countries undermine peace efforts because of selfishness or indifference and do not promote it. He added, at the same time, they also do grave injustice to the victims of terrorism.

The German Foreign Minister Annalena Baierbock had recently mentioned Kashmir in a joint statement with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto.
