Rewari: Income Tax Department teams raided the premises of RPS Group, a leading education group in Haryana, on September 15, 2023. The raids took place at schools, colleges, and homes of the group in Rewari, Gurugram, and Mahendragarh districts.
In Mahendragarh, teams of tax officials simultaneously reached the RPS School Khatod, College Balana, and the residence of the group’s owner for a search and survey. In Rewari, teams are searching records at the RPS International School in BMG Elegant City and the group’s owner’s house in Sector-3.
Police force is also present at the raid sites. Security personnel are not allowing anyone to enter the premises.
Income tax officers from Gurugram and Delhi are conducting the searches. The investigation is ongoing at all three places. Only children and their families taking admission in school or college are being allowed inside during the raid.
The raids are still ongoing, and it is not yet clear what the tax department is looking for. However, the raids come at a time when the department is conducting a nationwide crackdown on alleged financial irregularities in the education sector.
It is important to note that the RPS Group has not been accused of any wrongdoing. The raids are part of a routine investigation process.
