New Delhi: Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Thursday came out in support of the students’ demand to postpone the NEET PG 2022 exam.

The IMA has written to union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to postpone the NEET PG 2022 exam. In its letter to the Health Minister, the ministry has been urged to postpone the examination which is to be held on May 21.

The IMA has said in the letter that 5-10,000 interns, who served as corona warriors during the pandemic, would not be able to appear for NEET PG due to the delay in completion of their final exams. Therefore, keeping in view the future of the students, the NEET PG exam should be postponed for a few days.

Earlier, the Federation of All India Medical Association had also written a letter to Mandaviya urging him to postpone the examination. Meanwhile, many students are demanding postponement of NEET exam due to delay in counselling. They say that due to Covid-19, they have not been able to complete their internship on time.
