Mumbai: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut has sought special attention of Home Minister Amit Shah on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute. Sanjay Raut, while talking to reporters on Tuesday, said that the situation between Maharashtra-Karnataka is not like that of Meghalaya-Assam, but a conspiracy is being hatched to vitiate the atmosphere between the two states.

Raut said that politics is not right everywhere, the way the organisation named Kannada Rakshana Vaidike of Karnataka state has entered the villages of Maharashtra and hoisted its flag, can deteriorate the atmosphere. The situation between the two states can cause bloodshed, Raut said that it is not possible for the organisation to hoist its flag in the villages of Maharashtra without the Karnataka government’s cooperation. Raut alleged that some people sitting in the state government are supporting Kannada Rakshana Baidika, that is why Karnataka flags are being hoisted in villages of Maharashtra, a case of sedition should be registered on this. But Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is only forced to retain the chair and remains a mute spectator, Raut added. He said that he is speaking out loud on this issue, so summons have been issued to him to appear before the Belgaum court, terming his speech four years ago as inflammatory. Raut said that Belagavi has hatched a conspiracy to attack him and arrest him.

The Chief Minister of Karnataka claimed several villages in Maharashtra, after which even bus service was suspended in both the states.

Meanwhile, Kannada Rakshana Vaidke of Karnataka state has hoisted its flag in some villages of Jat tehsil of Sangli district.
