Home Minister Amit Shah to visit Bangladesh border on May 9

Guwahati: union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit the Indo-Bangladesh border on May 9 in the South Salmara-Mankachar district and interact with top BSF officials at Kamakhyabari camp on the Assam-Meghalaya border.

Mankachar town has been decorated in view of Shah’s visit and security arrangements have also been tightened. Various roads have been repaired along with the helipad and Mankachar’s bungalows in Kamakhyabari.

Top Police, BSF and Home Department officials reached Mankachar even as locals are delighted about the Home Minister’s visit.

The Home Minister will reach Guwahati in the evening on Sunday on a tour of Assam. Shah will take part in programs to mark the first anniversary of the BJP-led coalition government on May 10.

Amit Shah will also participate in the program organised at Khanapara in the celebration of receiving the President’s Colour Award for its service of 25 years of Assam Police.
