New Delhi : Delhi High Court to hear today the bail plea of Delhi violence accused Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam. A bench headed by Justice Siddharth Mridul will hear the matter. Earlier on August 23, opposing the bail plea of Umar Khalid, the Delhi Police had argued that the Shaheen Bagh sit-in was not a free movement by women. The dharna and demonstration sites were planned in a planned manner near the mosques.

On behalf of Delhi Police, Special Public Prosecutor Amit Prasad had said that in the WhatsApp chat of the accused, it was said that more Hindus should be brought to the dharna sites so that they look secular. There were teams for legal aid at every protest site during the riots. The team was coordinated through a WhatsApp group called DPSG. Police acted all the time but immediately thereafter lawyers were sent for legal help. Theater workers were hired to deliver speeches at the picket sites so that people would not get bored.
