Haryana Police takes Tajinder Bagga from Punjab cops, gives BJP leader to DP

Chandigarh: After arresting BJP leader Tajinder Bagga from Delhi over his comments against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Police team, on its way to Punjab, was stopped by the Haryana Police in Kurukshetra on Friday.

Haryana Police took Bagga and Punjab Police team to Pipli Police Station. After a scuffle between the police of Haryana and Punjab in Kurukshetra, Haryana Police took over Bagga from Punjab Police handed him over to the Delhi Police.

Then, the Delhi Police with Bagga left for the national capital. The Delhi Police registered a case against Punjab Police for kidnapping Bagga.

A case against Bagga was registered in Mohali on April 1, for making statements against Kejriwal, of inciting violence, threatening and publishing false statements on social media.

Mohali SSP informed the Kurukshetra SP, in writing, that Bagga’s arrest was as per legal procedure. Five notices had been sent to Bagga by Punjab Police and he did not appear before the police, hence he was arrested.

BJP leaders have termed Bagga’s arrest as illegal.
