AAP Banks on Last-Minute Voter Surge Ahead of Results

Despite several exit polls predicting a lead for the BJP in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) remains optimistic, citing a strong voter turnout in its favor and questioning the accuracy of pre-result surveys.
According to exit polls released on Thursday, the BJP is projected to win between 45-61 seats in the 70-member Assembly, with a vote share of approximately 48-49%. AAP, which has governed the national capital for the past decade, is expected to secure 13-25 seats, with a vote share hovering around 41-42%. The Congress, which has struggled to regain its footing in Delhi politics, is predicted to win at most one seat.
However, AAP leaders have dismissed the projections, arguing that exit polls often fail to capture ground realities. “We have seen in past elections how exit polls have underestimated AAP’s strength. The real verdict will be clear on Saturday, and we believe the people of Delhi have voted for governance over gimmicks,” a senior AAP leader stated.
Analysts also point out that voter behavior in Delhi has often been unpredictable, with last-minute swings playing a crucial role. “AAP’s governance model, particularly in education and healthcare, has built a strong voter base. It wouldn’t be surprising if the final results show a much closer contest than exit polls suggest,” said a political expert.
With the official results set to be announced on Saturday, all eyes remain on whether the BJP can convert its projected win into a decisive mandate or if AAP manages to defy the predictions once again.
