Sirsa: A significant step has been taken towards enhancing healthcare facilities in Sirsa with the commencement of the construction of a new medical college. The long-standing demand of the residents of Sirsa for better healthcare infrastructure is now being realized. The medical college, which will have 500 beds, is being built at an estimated cost of ₹832 crore. The construction work officially began today.
This medical college project has been made possible due to the persistent efforts of Haryana Lokhit Party (HALOPA) supremo Gopal Kanda, who, during his tenure in the government, worked tirelessly to secure the approval for this college. After the formal approval for the medical college’s construction, President Droupadi Murmu had virtually laid the foundation stone from Kurukshetra.
In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the High Purchase Committee approved the tender process, marking the official start of the project. The medical college is expected to be completed within two years.
Impact on Local Healthcare and Education
Udaybhan, the technical assistant overseeing the project, conducted an inspection of the land and initiated the cleaning process. Once complete, this medical college will serve the residents of Sirsa and surrounding areas, reducing the need for patients to travel to Delhi, Jaipur, or Hisar for medical treatment. Additionally, the college will offer medical education opportunities to local youth, allowing them to pursue degrees in medicine without leaving the region.
Both former MLA Gopal Kanda and senior BJP leader Gobind Kanda expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for making the establishment of the medical college in Sirsa a reality. The college is expected to significantly improve the healthcare landscape and provide better educational opportunities in the region.
