New Delhi: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, while addressing the audience at launch of Hindusthan Samachar Group Editor Raj Bahadur Rai’s ‘Bharatiya Sanvidhaan: Ankahi Kahaani’, talked about different ideologies existing in the country, such as RSS, leftists, Gandhian, etc. and called Rai ‘Triveni’ (Triveni: where three rivers meet). Pradhan said that Ram Bahadur Rai was not just a man but an institution and ideology in himself.
Pradhan, on Saturday evening, while talking about Article 370 acknowledged the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir for providing the government schemes to the citizens in the valley.
Pradhan promised a good President to the nation while referring to the upcoming presidential election. While referring to an editorial piece in the newspaper Pradhan rebutted with saying, “Some people don’t like how a dalit or backward can become President or Prime Minister. They don’t like how common people rise to such positions.”
Pradhan talked about the amendments said, “Constitution is the by-product of democracy.”
Talking about the National Education Policy, Pradhan said work is underway to create new book. He said that it is the teachers’ duty to make the books contextual.
Pradhan invited everyone to create awareness about the constitution. Referring to the bow that Prime Minister took in front of the Parliament when he was first elected, Pradhan said, “Prime Minister, when came in power, bowed to the Constitution and in front of the temple of constitution (Parliament) and took it upon himself to rule by the law.”
The Education Minister talked about Tulsidas and Uttar Pradesh tours and said that his “Hindi is improving due to it”. He said, “Everyone there knows about Tulsidas and his chaupai. From UP to Bihar everyone knows Tulsidas, but it was not taught to our children, had it been taught to the children what would have happened!”
Pradhan continued, “Who wrote Ramayana? Valmiki. But who brought it in people’s attention? Tulsidas.” He then went on to compare Raj Bahadur Rai to Tulsidas. Pradhan said, “Like Tulsidas promoted Ramayana, similarly Raisahab is promoting the Constitution.”
He said, “It is upon ourselves to take Tulsidas’ chaupai to every household, that’s the way to make Bharat Vishwaguru. Raishab has worked in this direction only.”
