New Delhi: Despite setbacks in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, the Congress is drawing inspiration from its history, recalling a similar scenario 20 years ago when it bounced back in the 2004 Lok Sabha polls. The party expresses hope and unwavering determination as it prepares for the upcoming general elections.

The BJP solidified its dominance in the Hindi heartland by securing victories in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. Simultaneously, the Congress successfully ousted the BRS from Telangana, setting the stage and tone for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with a three-one poll score.

Taking to X, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh remarked, “Exactly two decades ago, the Indian National Congress faced defeats in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, with only a win in Delhi. However, the party swiftly rebounded, becoming the largest party in the Lok Sabha polls and forming the government at the Centre within months.” He added, “It is with hope, confidence, and a resolute spirit that the Indian National Congress gears up for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Judega Bharat, Jeetega INDIA!”
