Cong meet in Udaipur to talk ’24 polls

New Delhi: Under the leadership of interim President Sonia Gandhi, the Congress Party will hold a ‘Chintan Shivir’ in Udaipur to discuss party organisation and formulate a strategy to challenge the BJP in the 2024 General Elections.

In the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on March 14, top leaders demanded that Rahul Gandhi take over as Congress President.

According to sources, senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury told Wayanad MP should accept the position of party president during the meeting.

According to sources, Rahul is willing to consider the position. Following this, a proposal was made in the meeting to hold the presidential election in August-September. However, it was later determined that the ongoing process could not be postponed.

Following the defeat in 2019, Rahul resigned as Congress president, and Sonia took over as the party’s interim president.

Discussions and critical decisions about the post of Congress president are likely to take place during the next Chintan Shivir, which will be held in Udaipur.
