Shahjahanpur: On the basis of a complaint filed by a former legislator’s daughter-in-law, police booked a BJP MLA and three others for allegedly fabricating public records and criminal conspiracy. The FIR was filed on the court’s order.

The FIR was filed against Tilhar BJP MLA Salona Kushwaha, one Sarita Yadav, clerk Danish, and another employee working in the block office, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar. Ruchi Verma said in her complaint that Kushwaha has been financially and socially bullying her family after Sarita Yadav claimed that she is the second wife of one of former MLA Roshanlal Verma’s sons and demands a portion of property.

She said that Kushwaha stole a register from the tehsil office and entered Sarita Yadav’s name as the wife of Roshanlal Verma’s deceased son Vinod Verma. The family of the former MLA has refused to acknowledge Sarita Yadav as their late son’s second bride.

The FIR was filed at the Nigohi police station under Indian Penal Code Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 218 (creation of false record by public servant). The BJP MLA had previously alleged that the charges against him were made out of political animosity.
