In Bihar, opposition parties, including BJP and left parties have demanded compensation for the families of the victims who lost their lives in the hooch tragedy. Leader of opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha accused the state government of hiding the actual number of deaths in the tragedy.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the opposition is not aware about different provisions in the Prohibition law for compensating the victims.
Meanwhile, the death toll in Bihar hooch tragedy has risen to 92. Maximum 85 deaths have been reported from Saran district. 29 people have also lost their eyesight. The casualties are likely to go up further as 21 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals. Eight of them are in critical condition.
